A survey of Kingdom Culture
Our online service for 10 May 2020
Join us for worship with Joshua, Lucia and Vaughan with
The sermon: The Power of His Seed
Matthew 13 from the parables of the Kingdom
We learn that:
We journey into Kingdom life:
From hard hearts, to wavering, followed by receptive and finally confident believing hearts.
WE grow from receiving the seed of the Word to becoming the seed. We get sown and scattered into the world where we become kingdom embassadors.
We add to the expansion of our house by becoming children of the King.
Our hope is for this age and the age to come, and we pray; “Come Lord Jesus!”
Get some emblems ready and follow,
Brandon’s last reflection on the Lord’s table .
We sing the New Grace song: Where I belong
Before we Look at TRUTH.
Jesus is the Way, the truth and the Life
But Just like Pilate, the worlds asks, “what is Truth?”
We survey a few scriptures and attempt to give a Bible picture of truth.
Is it based on facts?
Is it a body of Scientific evidence?
Or is there another perspective.
We have a look at the Greek influence on the biblical understanding and make our way to the Figures of
David and Jonathan who gives us the first glimpse into the type of:
A belt of truth.
Truth reveals through the torn curtain,
That God is accessible through Jesus.
Genesis 37
The Story of Joseph
Dreaming, believing and Sharing.
How did Joseph’s Dream become the revelation which governed his heart.
How confrontation led to conflict, conflict of conviction when not convincing his family led to his life of confinement.
Stripped of freedom, sold into slavery, falsely accused, imprisoned and forgotten, positioned him in a moment of convergence into his destiny.
How his faith in God did not waiver, despite his circumstances and put him in a position to redirect the history of his people.
Success in diffrent when viewed from the vantage of Eternity.
We have a quick survey of the Tensions in Jerusalem at the Time of Jesus’s trial.
WE consider, the occupation, the tension, political climate and general atmosphere at the time of the passover that year.
We look at the role players and weigh their historical influence of the events of that week.
Since much time has passed and many historical facts are lost in translation, piece together the outcome of the ‘çourt case’ and consider how it impacted the leaders of the temple as well as the followers of Jesus.
How is it possible that such an influencial Rabbi could be found guilty of a Capital offence?
Would they come after his followers and where could they go?
Who took the body of Jesus?
Oh my, could it be?
WE continue our Journey with Mark
As we follow the disciples who went from their greatest revelation of Belief, to their darkest nightmare of the long night of the soul.
Witness the confession of faithfulness of the 12,
Which crashes into total faithlure and a crisis of faith.
Then follow the unknown disciple who stayed as long as he could until even he fled for his life.
Messiah will die alone!
But when the women approah the Tomb…
Jesus, The Wordworker.
Jesus came to teach the words of the works He came to enact. Every act a considered word and every word a considered act. From the first to the last verses of scripture we see a consistency of the acts of The Lord, that reaches its fulfilment in the incarnation, life, words and works of our loving Saviour.
Key Scripture John 17
Supporting Scriptures:
Genesis 1
John 1, 16 and 18
Revelations 1
On this Palm Sunday, we celebrate Jesus’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
We lead of with some worship led by Joshua and Lucia Smith.
Then we dive right into Psalm 118 and the Gospels account of the week before Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday.
Solitary confinment is not equal to lonliness.
The value of Solitude and the notion that segrgation cannot divide hearts.
We look at Jesus in the wilderness in preparation for a life of servant leadership.
Crowd behaviour and its influences.
How people’s hearts differ and motives are hidden in mass actions.
Finally how the tension of the Kingdom is necessary to reveal hearts.
Count the Cost
What is a single life Worth.
What will it take to save that Life.
Are we willing to pay the price,
Sowing or going to the other side.
Will we be willing to confront the opposition of our message.
A brief look at 1 Corinthians 15.
The idea that some parts of scripture are cessational against the very real threat of complicating simple truths.
We look at the application of resurrection power in an already-not yet tension so that the Gace of God can be seen for what it’s meant to be.
The Pauline view of the church’s beliefs are looked at for our daily application to the issues we face.
