The Enemy tempts us by

1. Lying to us,
2. Causing us to doubt
3. Inviting us to taste his wares
4. Playing to our strength
5. Promising success

He also uses the word by perverting its context.

Or misquoting its intent

Or finally using our motive.

But we must resist him, learn the Word, trust the Spirit and not lean on our own understanding.
