The Radical Middle

The language of the radical middle is paradoxical at best. We are essentially taking a position against extremism.

But in the process we create a new normal of embracing what appears to be contradictory.

It is about being ‘IN-TENSIONAL’

The notion that we can be intentional about the constant state of TENSION caused by embracing two opposing positions.

The way I do it is to view the position as a point of reference. In other words I am embracing the language of journey.

I am therefore, constantly moving. flowing, engaging, adjusting, embracing, challenging or questioning any position.

I am moving away while journeying toward, but accepting that to arrive is to have a position.

So we break bonds while binding hearts. We accept people while rejecting sin.

We battle the enemy in a war that is won while doing the work of a job already done.

We say yes and amen, AND no to the world for we’re ALSO His sons, But not yet Home.

An inconvenient truth

This week the Lord exposed the difference between coexistence and unity.

We are in the world, but not of the world.

We live in unity with our Spiritual Family and love the world in the same way that Jesus did.

Not judging, always reaching out without manipulation and revealing the truth of the Kingdom of God.

Trust brings rest while obedience brings peace.

Peace, however, is not without resistance nor conflict.

Finally, we live between the extremes of the Kingdom where we say; ‘Also/And’ rather than ‘either/or’. This is the radical middle.
